Comprehensive Project Description:
The convergence of wearable technologies equipped with multiple intelligent sensors has reached a critical juncture where factors like portability, wearability, and extended battery life are nearing functionality for continuous real-time monitoring, particularly in early disease detection and diagnosis, such as epilepsy. However, current commercial wearable devices face limitations in terms of portability, long-term wearability, and high energy consumption, rendering them unsuitable and uncomfortable for continuous ambulatory monitoring. This project endeavors to pioneer the development of a high-performance ultra-low power analogue front end (AFE) system, coupled with edge computing machine learning (ML) algorithms, capable of sensing, analyzing, processing, and autonomously detecting incipient events, such as epileptic seizures.
