AI and Data Science Masters Scholarships- Scholarships worth £10,000 available for 2024 entry – more than 100 scholarships up for grabs
The University of Birmingham has announced the availability of AI and Data Science Masters Scholarships for the academic year 2024-2025. These scholarships are aimed at equipping students from underrepresented backgrounds with the necessary skills to thrive in the AI and Data Science sectors.
Over 100 scholarships will be awarded to deserving students, with a special focus on individuals from underrepresented groups, including women, Black individuals, disabled students, and those from low-socioeconomic backgrounds. Each scholarship will amount to £10,000 in financial support.
The allocation of scholarship funding will prioritize candidates from marginalized groups to ensure that the Artificial intelligence and Data Science workforce reflects the diversity of our society. Eligible students who fall within these categories are encouraged to apply for this financial assistance, subject to the eligibility criteria outlined below.
Who is Eligible to Apply? These scholarships are part of a larger initiative funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and the Office for Artificial Intelligence. The aim is to encourage more women, Black individuals, disabled students, and students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds to pursue postgraduate programs in artificial intelligence and data science.
To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold UK nationality or residency status.
- Have already submitted a study application for admission to one of the eligible courses offered at the University of Birmingham. Please note that applications submitted for scholarships without prior study application submissions will be deemed invalid.
Application Process for March 2024 Applications for the Bioinformatics (Online) program, scheduled to commence in March 2024, are currently open. Interested candidates can apply for the scholarship using the button provided. The deadline for applications for this program is 23:59 (UK time) on Friday, February 16, 2024.
Application Process for Other Programs For all other programs starting from September 2024 onwards, scholarships will be awarded in three rounds. The application deadlines for each round are as follows:
- Round one: Deadline is 23:59 (UK time) on Sunday, March 31, 2024.
- Round two: Deadline is 23:59 (UK time) on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
- Round three: Deadline is 23:59 (UK time) on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
Applicants who are unsuccessful in one round will automatically have their applications carried over to the next round, eliminating the need for re-application.
